You can learn how to update the name of the city you live in on Facebook using a computer, phone, or tablet.Updating your city in Facebook will help tailor the information you see to your location, if you've moved recently.
Step 1: You can open the Facebook app.
There is a white "F" on a blue background.If you don't have a password for Facebook, you can type in your email address or phone number.
Step 2: You can use your profile photo.
It is at the top left corner of the screen.
Step 3: There is a pencil icon.
It's in the middle of the screen.
Step 4: Next to "Details" is the Edit.
You might have to scroll down a little to see it.
Step 5: The pencil icon is next to Current City.
It's in the middle of the page.If you don't have a city set, you can tap the button.
Step 6: The current city should be replaced with a new location.
To backspace or remove the text, tap the current city's name.Start typing your new location's name.You can select it when it appears in the search results.If you want to remove your current city completely, you have to first remove the city's name.If you want to hide your current city from your profile, tap instead.
Step 7: Who can see your city?
If you'd like, you can change your location.If you want your friends to see the city, or if you don't want it to be public, tap the small menu just below the name.
Step 8: Use the tap to save.
You can find your current city in the section of your profile.
Step 9: You can go to Facebook.
Follow the on-screen instructions to sign in if you aren't already signed in.
Step 10: Click your name.
The small version of your profile photo can be found in the upper-right corner of the page.This will take you to your profile.
Step 11: Click the profile you want to modify.
Below your cover image, it's in the upper-right area of your profile.
Step 12: Click on the About info you want to modify.
It is at the bottom of the window.
Step 13: You can click places that are live.
The "About" panel is on the left side of the page.
Step 14: There are three dots next to "Lives in".
This is on the right side of the page.
Step 15: You can change the current city on the menu.
Step 16: The city should be replaced with a new one.
Simply click in the box, backspace or deletion over the city name, and enter a new location.Search results will appear when you type.Click to select the city you want to use.
Step 17: The Save button is blue.
There is a new location for you.
Step 18: Who can see your location should be adjusted.
To control who can see your location, first you have to hover the mouse over the privacy icon to the right of your city's name.This tells you how much privacy you have.You can change it by clicking the icon and selecting an alternative.
